2008 Dear Fellow Bethany West Owners, After a long, cold winter and an even harsher economic climate, spring and the approaching summer season are more welcome than ever. Some nice updates to the facilities have been made, including the long-planned and eagerly awaited fitness room upgrade. Hopefully, a new season and a good work-out will help you put the winter behind you once and for all. Final touches are being applied and a dedicated entry system has been installed to insure security and help us track use. More details will be available shortly. Information will also be posted on the website. Additionally, the pool heaters have been replaced and many other repairs and touch-ups are in the process of being completed. This is my first season as President and I am looking forward to continuing to work with the Board and also to some increased participation from members of the community. To that end, we have recently appointed Cathy Schweiger as the chair of a new Recreation Committee. Cathy is a former Board President and has contributed a lot of time to Bethany West in the past. She will be developing that group and will be happy for volunteers who are interested in planning activities for the community. We have also initiated a Grounds Committee and we are also interested in having non-Board members join that committee as well. Please feel free to contact any Board member if you have interest in becoming involved with that group. It is always great to get suggestions from our residents throughout the year (and, yes, even a few complaints) but one sure way to make sure your voice is heard and your input is considered is to volunteer. I've just mentioned a couple of committees that are forming and, of course, as Board terms come to an end, we are always looking for new recruits. So, while your suggestions and your criticisms are always welcome, your deeds and an extended hand are even more welcome. Please feel free to speak to any of the Board members if you have interest.
